I want my search results to display post excerpts, preferably with the sentence in which the search term is found. But search results are displaying entire posts. This is very inconvenient and unhelpful.

Are there setting I can configure to do this?

Yes, but the setting is not in Relevanssi, but in your theme. Look at the theme settings, there should be a setting that controls whether the archive pages show excerpts or full posts. If you can’t find the setting, ask the theme support – they should know.

Ah, I found it. Thank you. I would never have been able to do so unless you told me it was in the theme archive pages.

A separate question if you don’t mind: is there a way for a search to crawl Facebook posts and tweets embedded in posts?

No. Relevanssi can expand shortcodes and see what’s in them, most of the time, but content embedded from external sites is strictly off-limits to Relevanssi.

    Thanks. That makes sense.
