To test this plugin, I created a simple PDF file via export from MS Word, and added it as a file attachment to a blog post AFTER installing your plugin. The file contained the word “spygators”. My search for “spygators” returned no matches. I used your indexing function — though I think something I added when the plugin was already active should be indexed automatically. The same search still returns no matches.

I created a second post with reference to the same file. Again a search for “spygators” returned no matches.

I searched for another string that appeared in the title of both posts — “casserole”. This returned one match — the one that contained “casseroles” in the title. The other post, whose title contained the word “casserole”, was not listed in the search results.

I deactivated your plugin, and again tried the search term “casserole”. This found both posts.

So, not only is your plugin failing to return posts with PDF files containing the search term, it’s also reducing the number of valid search results returned for terms other than inside attached files.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi, @tylertork

    Just noticed your post, sorry.

WPFTS Pro extends the usual WP search via smart hooks. But in case something wrong with that system, it may fail. In this case, it will not return partial results, it just will return nothing.

Well, the most frequent reason why WPFTS Pro does not give any results is a conflict with another search-related plugin that uses the same internal hooks and filters.

Please try to disable all search-related plugins and try again. Also please check if the indexing functionality is completed and there are some indexed posts number shown.

Also, I would ask you to test the search using WPFTS Settings / Sandbox / tab2.

If nothing helps – please do not hesitate to write to me directly to the Live Chat at https://fulltextsearch.org Those problems are always solvable.

Trying it in a fresh install with no other plugins still didn’t find the word in the PDF file, though it did find both occurrences of a word in the post title. Reached out privately as you suggested.
