Search results on my site

    When i use the search function my results page gives me a list of EVERY page it found that matches my query instead of a summarized list where I can click a result and go to that page…. i can’t locate a search.php file so I’m not sure where to go from here?

  • Are you saying that the search.php of your theme uses the_content in the loop and you want to show the_excerpt or maybe just the title instead? If so, just change it or create a child theme.

    i guess that’s what i’m saying lol! i’m not overly familiar with the internal workings of WordPress however I do know my theme i’m using does not have a search.php file so I’m not sure what it would be using to generate the results page… any guidance?? it sounds like i only need to make a minor change somewhere ya?
