Search results takeover displays all posts – does not limit according to search

Hi, I’ve followed the instructions here: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/316-use-a-grid-for-the-search-or-archive-page

The search results page does output the grid, but the grid displays all posts from all of the post types I have in the grid. It does not limit the results according to the search terms.

I tried disabling all other plugins and switching my theme to Twenty-Twenty Two – which are suggestions I found on this support post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/takeover-search-feature-cant-get-to-work/
But still no luck.

I’m not sure where to go from here. All of my work is on my local, so I don’t have a link to share, but if needed maybe I could prop something up somewhere. Any other troubleshooting tips I could try?
