• Hi. I am using WordPress for the first time. VERY IMPRESSED! A couple of things though. Is there any way possible to make the search do the following:

    Search for Keywords
    Search Exact Match
    Search Partial

and have them as options? I use Snitz Forums as my regualr forum site, and I really like that feature. Was wondering if this could do it too?

Also, could there ever be an “ASP” version of WordPress come out? I think that this Blog would work great with Snitz Forums, but myself and other have found that we have to run the two on different domains, due to the fact that our server (GoDaddy) does not support running both script.

  • If you want advanced search on your site, you should consider using an API to Google. Start an account at Google Webmasters, create a sitemap for your site, have Google thoroughly index it and run your searches using Google API.

I sincerely doubt it. Once you get used to the way things are done in PHP, ASP starts looking verbose and clunky. Consider this: WordPress sailed unscathed through a major changeover from PHP 4 to PHP 5. It still works with both versions of the PHP interpreter. Try pulling it off with ASP to ASP.Net changeover…

Well, you can wait until bbPress matures to 1.0, integrate it with your WordPress and dump your ASP-based forum. Or you can dump it today and replace it with phpBB, vBulletin, or SMF.
