    Hello,

I am a developer working on a site for a client. One of the tasks involves improving the search functionality – at the moment, the search box they have only searches products, which means that if you search for an artist which has no products in stock, they don’t show in search results. My team and I believe that we need a plugin which allows for the search of users as well as products. So far we have found Relevanssi, which we believe the pro version will allow us to do what we want. However, we’ve been looking around in case there are cheaper alternatives. Jetpack Search might be one of those.
My question is, would Jetpack Search allow for the searching of users (“artists”/”vendors”) as well as products? If so, how much would this cost? And would it work seamlessly with the setup we have now (e.g. Elementor)?

Let me know if anymore information may be useful for answering these questions.

    Thank you,

    Christopher Webb

    Hello there:

Yes, it will help search the vendor and artist. In fact, in can help you search all the content it will index from the site.

If so, how much would this cost?

You can check the cost here.

And would it work seamlessly with the setup we have now (e.g. Elementor)?

Yes, there won’t be an issue.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

The link you sent me regarding what it will index takes me to a list which doesn’t appear to include “users”/”user profiles”/”vendors” etc.
I should say that I have tried the free version and it only appeared to detect an artist with no stock IF their name was mentioned in an article. It did not find their profiles. And from your other link, it looks as though the free and paid-for versions are basically identical, minus the logo and support.

    Did I do something wrong?

    Thank you,
    Christopher Webb

Could you please let us know how you add the users/vendors to your site? Are they public, and are they added on single/separate pages? If you provide us with a live example, we may understand it more properly.

it looks as though the free and paid-for versions are basically identical, minus the logo and support.

There is also a difference in number of records and monthly requests. However, if you are within the number of records and monthly requests as per the free plan, then you may start with the free plan.

    Hello @cwwpforum,

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no activity, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
