• Hello Yannick,

On my website, all the links and categories are in the articles, not on the homepage. I juste have the titles of the articles on my homepage.

When I install a standard WordPress “Search widget” on the homepage of my website, the displayed results come only from the text of the articles (and not from the links in the database on your plugin). It’s normal.
I tried to paste [link-library-search] inside the widget (on the homepage), but but nothing comes up when I search. It’s also normal because the homepage does not contain any categories.

So, the question is : Is it possible to display the search results (of the whole database) in a page on which no category of the plugin is displayed ?
Is there a trick to make that possible ? (for example with a special code added in the source of the page, or with a modified [link-library-search] code in the plugin).

If the search covers the entire website, the number of results displayed should be limited (with a numbering of the results pages for example).

Maybe also adding this function is impossible (logically)…

Thanks again for this extraordinary plugin !

First off, sorry for the long delay before responding to your question. I have been very busy travelling for work around the world.

Now, there are 2 different ways to address this questions:

    1. You can get links to appear as part of site-wide search results by going to the Global Options section of Link Library and checking the boxes labeled ‘Links appear in search results” and “Individual link pages can be seen by visitors”. With this option active, you can just use the standard search widget and it will search within your post contents as well as within your links. You can also modify the layout of links in the search results by going to the Global Search Results / Main Site RSS Feed Item Layout section of the Global Options.
    2. A different approach would be to use the [link-library-search] shortcode in a text widget. Now, as you said, this search box will not work in its default configuration if you don’t have an instance of the [link-library] shortcode on the page where you used the Search shortcode. That being said, you can go to the search tab of your Library Configuration and set a URL for the Results Page Address. This can be any page on your site that contains the [link-library] shortcode. When searching in the Link Library search box, the user will be sent to the address specified and be able to see search results generated by Link Library.

Let me know if this answer makes sense to you.
