• I’m using Twenty Seventeen theme and added a search widget to the footer and it worked fine.

I then installed the Ivory plugin (to add a search icon to the main menu) – this icon appeared and I could type in a search but it would not execute i.e. nothing happened when I hit enter or clicked on the search to execute.

I then deleted the Ivory plugin and went back to just adding a widget via the Twenty Seventeen them I’m using, but now it will not execute either.

I deleted the theme, reinstalled WordPress, reinstalled the theme, restored a valid site backup from a couple of days ago.

I have added the search widget back in again to the footer via the theme customise, and it appears there and I can type in a site search, but it will NOT execute.

    Can someone please help, thanks?

Just to add – upon further investigation – on the HOME page only (and Location/Contact page which is the same as bottom of Home page), the search facility at the footer will NOT execute.

However, the same search facility in the same footer area, does successfully execute and produce results on every other selected page within this website.
