Searchable Product ID (SKU)

I believe the best way would be to edit your theme, and for the template file that outputs the Downloads on the front-end, make some edits to it and display the EDD SKU field if set.

That would be the best way as it would automatically apply to all of your Downloads that have the SKU field set.

What code do we use to display the SKU? Will it be searchable?

Adding it to the theme seems to not make it searchable automatically as WordPress does not search custom fields by default.

Great thanks for those resources. Now, how can I get the SKU to show up in my theme? Is there a function that you have that creates a shortcode for that?

First you need to get the Download ID on the page you are on in the template, and I believe if you are looking at a download it would be the $post->ID and then you can pass that to the edd_get_download_sku($download_id)` function

The Download ID, you could get if you are on a Download page as it would be the global $post variable.
