Put simple: users can specify a number of specification that they care, e.g. price, weight, distance, and speed. Then the tool suggests either one or more products that fit the user specifications.

Does someone know a tool or plugin, which would allow me to do the above?

Why not just use the tags and categories taxonomies when you add an item description post and let search find them?

You could ‘fancy up’ a search form with buttons to find the posts. There are also several search plugins that might help you further refine the search on your WordPress…
