• When searching for plugins I don’t want the newest, I want the best. If I want to search for plugins with Zoom functionality I mark the radio button “Most popular” or “Highest rated” and enter “Zoom” in the text entry. The search result doesn’t snow anything with connected to zoom. It shows the Most popular” or “Highest rated” plugins in general. This is a major usability flaw.

  • It’s working fine for me. If I do a search for “zoom” the filters work fine. The first result when sorting by highest rated has the word “zoom” in it. The plugin is not a zooming plugin (whatever that is) but it’s a pretty common word.

If you search for zoom with “Relevancy” first you get a notion of what kinds of modules I am talking about. If you sort by Most popular you see that the search engine prioritizes popularity plugins instead of the most popular zoom plugin i.e. those plugins that have Zoom as a word in the plugin title. That is a usability problem.

It’s just an algorithm. When you search by relevancy the title or name of the plugin is used. It’s not when using the other filters so you are getting results that have the keyword elsewhere. Good point you have.
