    Hi,

I am using the plugin which works really well with our site. However, when you search for a product eg. “Spitfire,” we get results that don’t have spitfire in the name. They have it in the product description and it is strange because I have “search in description” off in the search config.

Is there a good reason as to why this is happening?

    Hi @stephenevans

Make sure you have the Free version of FiboSearch (if you have the Pro version, I cannot help you on this forum, write here: https://fibosearch.com/contact/).
Then check in WooCommerce -> FiboSearch -> Search config (tab) whether you have disabled search in description and short description. If so, it means that some caching system may be causing the results to be out of date. Check if you are using one and try to clean it.

    Regards,
    Kris

    Hi @c0nst,

Yes I am using the free version.

We have no caching system at all on the site. The search results are still showing products that have the search term in the description. This setting isn’t on so I don’t know why it is doing this at all.

    Thanks,

    Stephen

    Hi @stephenevans

FiboSearch free uses native WP Query. So it’s possible that another plugin or your theme has code that could affect this query. The best way to check this is to disable each plugin one by one and check the search results. Additionally, try switching to a different theme.

Also, disable all available options in WooCommerce -> FiboSearch -> Search config (tab) to leave search only in product titles.

You can also go to the WooCommerce -> Status -> Logs tab and check for any logs starting with “fatal-errors”.

    Regards,
    Kris
