Searching the PDFs category wise

    Hi. I am trying to setup a website that has over 8 different types/categories of publications. Each publication type has 15-20 PDF files. These categories/types will be specified manually at the time of uploading each publication section.

    I want to know if it is possible through this plugin that I add a drop-down menu on the homepage, to select one of this publications category, and then the plugin may search only the PDFs in the selected category?

    Really appreciate a quick response. You can see the attached link and play with the drop down. For reference, sstlv1 and sstlv2 are different publication categories.

    Hi!

    There are some ways to assign a category to the uploaded file. Normally, WP attachments have no category. However, you can create a “parent” post for each publication, assign the category to this post and add attachment file to this post. WPFTS Pro will work this way.

    Alternatively, you can create custom meta value for the attachment and use this meta value as a category. This will work too but maybe you will need to install an additional plugin like ACF, for example. WPFTS Pro will work this way too.

    Select which one you’d prefer.
