Searching w/ Characters

    I’m having some issues with the search functionality on the site. Currently we’re using the SearchWP plugin, and its looking after some custom taxonomies and custom fields. I’ve added an autocomplete to the front-end as well to make it a little bit easier to get around this issue.

    Searching for “GM38013MCN” returns the results expected.

    Searching for “GM38013MCN-1” does *not* return the results expected, even though its the exact name of the post title, and also is included in an additional custom field on the post.

    Same goes for “2/3” or some of the other searches with “/” characters in them.

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?
