Is it possible to have a second instance of the CRM to keep two sets of data? I have translated most instances of quotes and replaced them with “grant requests” (although there’s lots of strings not available for translation!) and I’d like another with “Resources”. Is there an easier way of doing it?

    Hi @rosbiffer

The same data in both CRMs and keep them synced?

The “easiest” way of doing it is to probably do it at the database level (so have a second database mimmic the first and sync updates) – but even then having the sync be real-time would be tricky.

Are there certain clients you want to send quotes to saying “Resources” instead of it saying “Grant Requests”?

    Hi Mike,

The two instances could be completely separate so no syncing required

OK got it, sure you can install Jetpack CRM on as many domains as you need to. We have a lot of cases where crms are installed as a subdomain (e.g. crm.yoursite.com or in subfolders yoursite.com/crm1 & yoursite.com/crm2 with a fresh WordPress install on each of those).

The way the licensing is set up though is its one license key per site (so if you’re using extensions, you’ll need a second license for the second CRM).

    Hi Mike

it wouldn’t be on a different domain just both accessible from the same admin page

    Hi,

Ah I see, so two separate CRMs within the same install? That’s not something we currently have – but if I’m understanding correctly it’s the “CRM sites and teams” which we have on our feature requests page?

It does, yes! I’ve voted for it. In the meantime I guess I just need to just use tags I guess

Thanks, yes tags would work for now.

About the above – what is it you’re trying to achieve with the above?

I use the CRM for tracking grant requests for a charity. I’ve updated the mo file to replace quote with grant request but there’s still quite a few places where quote isn’t appearing in the mo file to be changed.

Thanks, and in which cases would you want it to say “Resources” instead?

I don’t think that’ll work without having two instances so I’ll have to try something else for that.

OK – that’s a shame thanks for letting me know.
