    Hi there..

I setups a WP network using subdomains a couple of days ago…

    I have 2 subdomains currently…
    sub1.domain.com and sub2.domain.com

I added the entries to .htaccess and wp-config.php appropriately as instructed.

I manually setup the subdomains. ‘A’ records were created automatically after creating the subdomains in the hosting control panel.. they both link to the same IP address as the ‘@’ record. (I did one yesterday and one today)

    sub1.domain.com works fine, but sub2.domain.com doesn’t.

I triple checked to be certain I entered the exact same value for the subdomain name and the name of the new site. I can’t use wild cards on my server which is why I add the subdomains manually.

I looked in the DB.. and of course an entry is in there for blog ID #3.

All I get is a can’t find server popup message in FireFox.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated…

    Keith

    Interesting (to me at least)..

I removed both subdomains because I just want to see if the 2nd one getting added first will work (still have yet to test that).. but…

with both subdomains deleted.. when attempting to browse to the 1st one I get a 403 Forbidden error.. and the 2nd one still has the server not found popup (in FF)

Why do they provide different msg’s?

patience is a virtue.. was a propagation thing.. didn’t realize it would have to propagate for subdomains, apparently so.. and my ISP was dragging their feet.. pulled it up on proxy servers really quickly, i flushed the dns so I don’t know if it was locally but perhaps.. anyway, it’s resolved.
