    Hello,

I have been using the plugin without any problem for more than two years but a few days ago I stumbled on this:
For administrator login, I am using a modified address instead of “wp-admin”, let’s say “secret”. I type this address in the browser bar and log in. It’s OK for me but not very convenient for other registered users.
A few days ago, I decided to add a simple “loginout” button (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/wp_loginout) for all other subscribers. What happens is that when someone wants to log in, the input form that pops-up shows the “secret” address in the browser bar. Is this to be expected? Any way to avoid this? Thanks.

    Hi,

They might be targeting the following file xmlrpc.php. This file can be found in the WordPress root directory of your website installation. Enabling one of the following features will help you even further.

Have you enabled one of the following features? This is located in WP Security -> Firewall -> Basic Firewall Rules -> WordPress XMLRPC & Pingback Vulnerability Protection?

    Completely Block Access To XMLRPC:
    Disable Pingback Functionality From XMLRPC:

Let me know if this helps you.

    Kind regards

Yes this is to be expected because the button you added is linked to the standard wordpress login URL (which is what you are trying to hide).

    My apologies,

But I read the original question incorrectly. This happens to me from time to time ??

    Kind regards

@wpsolutions Thanks. OK, I guess the subscribers will have to make an effort to login without button.

@mbrsolution No problem. Presently we also have “australian-style” temperatures and I realized it sometimes makes focussing difficult. (btw: for other reasons I have long ago “completely block access to xmlrpc”).
