    Hi all,

Our proposed business profit model is as such:

    Monthly Subscription Access
    Free Member Access

Both scenarios allow a user to access close to 400 lessons, but the subscriber gets a discount. I understand how to do this in Lifterlms.

Our second – and equally as important – model is:

“Bundled” Lessons for Subscribers only, where a bundle is simply a packaged group of lessons – say 5 lessons – at a deeper discount then they could get individually. As this description (our “bundles”) approximates what Lifterlms calls “Sections”… I’ve assigned that name in the title of this question.

To complete the picture, we’ve created four levels of “Certification”: Associate, Bronze, Silver, & Gold. For simplicity, let’s say each of these contains 100 lessons (of the 400 total). Rather than make these “Memberships”… we’d view these more at the “Course” level… as our members are either “subscribing” or “free”.

We believe a pricing model at the “Associate” level is very limiting (i.e. pay $xxx.xx for access to 100 lessons). We instead want to break this into the aforementioned bundles (i.e. 25 bundles with four lessons per bundle). Our logic is that we’d lose a ton of people if we threw all that content at them at once, and we’d love to show them their progress (through the “course completion”)… as they work towards completion of their certification.

So… understanding that we would have four “Courses” (Associate, Bronze, Silver, & Gold), how do I make each “section” within each “course” something I can “bundle” and charge for? This would allow for their progress to be tracked… and as such, receive gamifications/incentives to continue…

If I’ve butchered LifterLMS’s naming conventions… I apologize. In any event, we want the most flexibility for our clients… and would love to use LifterLMS for our business needs.

    Thanks!

    That’s awesome!

In LifterLMS you can’t sell parts (sections) of a course separately.

I would create 4 lesson courses that are part of a greater course track.

The courses could be bought individually or in different membership bundles.

Once they get through everything, they could earn a certificate for having completed the course track.

    Hey Chris,

Thanks for the response! I have looked through all the links you have provided. Very helpful. A bunch of questions… just to be sure I understand your framework and the best application for it with our business

Our “Bundles” would be best implemented as Courses (with multiple Lessons in each course). Members would buy the Course, and there progress through purchased Courses could be linked to a Certification “track”. Correct? If so, I’m quite happy with that… ??

We have multiple revenue models… all of which fall under TWO member types:Free and Subscribing. Free Members get access to lessons, individually… at regular prices. Their main benefit is access to lesson content.

Subscribing Members are where I’m having a hard time putting this awesome product of yours all together… and I’d truly appreciate your help in providing clarity…

Our Subscribing Members receive benefits in return for their monthly fee of say, $10. Here are some of the main benefits, listed as needed for clarification purposes:

    1) % Discount on all SINGLE lessons (they can buy any single video lesson at a discount)
    2) % Discount on all “Course” offerings as you and I have previously discussed.
    3) We do large “clinics” in different cities throughout the US. They’d get a % or Dollar discount if they sign-up and attend any of these events.
    4) Access to Exclusive Content (for Subscribers Only)

    So, here are my questions:

    A) Is it most sensible to use Membership to differentiate Free from Subscribing Members? May seem like a no-brainer to some… however, now that you see a little more of the business pricing concept, perhaps there is a another/better way?

    B) The monthly subscription fee is an Access Plan(?) with monthly recurring fees of $10, right? That Access Plan would then be tied to a Membership, right? How would we provide the user access to all videos without making them appear as free?

    C) Is the Coupon the best way to discount all lessons for a user once they become a subscribing member? An Access Plan? Etc.. How do we make that work?

    D) For Events… is it again a Coupon that we use?

    E) Exclusive Access… The basic version of this would be to just assign content to a Membership type, right? In discussions with our Steering Group, the concept of granting access to exclusive content published AFTER their activation/payment date was brought up. Is there a way to effectively do this with LifterLMS? IOW, a user that signs up in June, 2017… would only have access to exclusive content published ON or AFTER that date, not before it.

As a summary, we just want the user experience to be seamless. A user visits our site, creates a Subscribing Membership for $10 a month, and then has access to DISCOUNTED courses, lessons, and live training events. Because of the Free Membership option… I could see the necessity to create TWO instances of every course, lesson, and event (Free Vs. Subscribing)… and that doesn’t seem too efficient. As such, all my questions! ??

Really sorry this is so long-winded! Truly appreciate all you guys do, and the service you are providing!

Thanks for the follow up! It’s all good. There’s a lot to sort out when investing in a platform.

Yes you are correct in that with LifterLMS you can offer “Bundles” … implemented as Courses (with multiple Lessons in each course). Members would buy a Course or groups of courses via memberships, and their progress through purchased courses could be linked to a Certification “track.” That is correct!

For your subscribing members, each course can have a “Subscribing Member” access plan that costs a monthly fee. That gives them access to all the courses AND other WordPress pages that are locked down if they aren’t members that contains exclusive content.

LifterLMS also offers “Members only pricing” which can be free OR discounted. So LifterLMS actually saves a step for what you’re trying to do. Just set up special members only discount pricing for the courses.

I’m hearing that some courses are free. Some courses are paid. And some courses can be obtained at a discount and other benefits become available through the paid monthly membership.

For the events, you could add something like Events Calendar Pro and have an event discount code on a LifterLMS membership protected page.

Yes you can add content to a membership and auto enroll existing members or not if you like.

I think you’re close, and would perhaps benefit by simplifying slightly.

LifterLMS is a good fit for what you’re trying to do. You’re almost there.

I’m happy to jump on a quick 15 minute call and help talk you through clarifying the final details so it’s seamless and crystal clear. Click here to schedule a call: https://calendly.com/lifterlms/15min

Also I think you would also benefit from joining the LifterLMS VIP Facebook community and asking questions there too and seeing what others are doing with LifterLMS: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lifterlmsvip/

    Cheers,

    Chris

Thanks, Chris. I will definitely take you up on your offer. Might be best if we use that time to walk me through setting up a couple of those scenarios. I’ll update to the newest version and schedule a call.
