• Im going to start selling themes but i want to add some sort of securement

what do i need to make the theme break if they unzipped the theme before installing it or removing footer links

Or if they change the theme name make the header brake

  • You shouldn’t do any of that sort of thing. WordPress themes should be GPL so users are free to do whatever they like with them. See https://www.ads-software.com/news/2009/07/themes-are-gpl-too/

I think you are misunderstanding my question

I want to do what they do in theme forest,

I could not care less about if they change the theme after they buy it, i just want to make sure they buy it, and not download it illegal
or modify it before uploading it

Try working on a theme for days on a freelance budget, I am freelance designer i need to eat so i need to sell themes,

If download a theme from wordpress and i unzipped and change for example the css, when install it, it says the header has been sent

How do i go about doing this securement, is it a theme hook, or how can put a secure pin for customers who purchased the theme
