Secured pages and posts after fixing 500 Internal Server error
-
Initial tests indicate this is a great plugin. The functionality provided was exactly what I needed. However on first use, when there was no user logged in, when that anonymous user tries to click through to a secure page they get a 500 Internal Server Error. The page displays with the message “There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”
The page displays correctly if a user is logged in.
The issue occurred with WordPress 3.5.1 and plugin version 1.5.8. Resolution was found by setting up custom pages for access denied on Authenticated and Anonymous users in the plugin settings.
The setting is accessible from Settings -> Page Security. On the page that is loaded click the top check-box labeled (to the right) as “Use pages for default access denied screens”. Then leave the Protection Type radio button at the default value of Redirect.
