I downloaded and activated this plugin. so far so good, but on my plugins page when searching for new plugins, this plugin removes the ability to click any link or install new plugins…once I deactivate the security center, my ability to click links on these pages and install new plugins is resumed…Not to be rude but I don’t think you should be charging for something until all the bugs are worked out. It scares you when it says the vulnerability information hasn’t been updated in 30 days, and prompts you to upgrade, but yet I can’t upgrade knowing it is affecting my site in this way. If it is effecting this, then what else could it be affecting that I am just now not seeing…Also, there should be a manual update available for people who might continue with it in this state as it does have some valuable information, but are not ready to pay to receive real time push notifications…at least until all the bugs are worked out. Now every time I want to install a new plugin or even search them, I have to disable the security center plugin. Also, some of the links are broken with 404’s in the links for how to fix stuff…with all that, if I can’t somehow manually grab updated vulnerability information, while all these bugs remain, what good is this…not sure if I will be keeping this one. A for effort.

    Hello terminij,

First of all thank you for your honest feedback.

What I was just able to reproduce is that if you search for plugins, even though you can download plugins directly using “Install Now” and click on “Details” to open a tab with information, it is indeed not possible to click any link in that “Details” frame. I will start investigating and testing a solution to this problem and deploy a version fixing this issue asap.

Additionally, I would like to show our appreciation for bug reports like this by giving you a code for a one-year free subscription for one site. Please get in touch with me via the “Feedback, Bugs or Feature Requests?” link in the top right corner of the plugin to receive the code.

Regarding the manual update, if you allow the plugin to communicate with our servers by clicking the according checkbox during the first setup, it will automatically update the vulnerability feed once a day. The free version though will always be exactly 30 days behind and only with the subscription you will be receiving immediate up-to-date email alerts as well as the updated vulnerability feed and vulnerability details in your plugin .

Finally, I would like to mention that we really take bugs seriously and put a lot of effort into developing high quality plugins. So far we have received a lot of good feedback regarding this. No software ever gets a 100% bug free, but relies on community support such as yours to get close to that.

So again, thank you for bringing this bug to our attention and I’ll make sure it is fixed and released asap.

    Cheers,
    Stefan

Wonderful! Thanks for the fix. I checked it and indeed my plugin page is now fixed. Kudo’s on the turn around time on this and I really appreciate your very kind gesture.
