Security.. I have been locked out but never tried to log in..

  • Hi There,
    It appears there have been two unsuccessful attempts by someone to try to hack my wordpress site as I received an email to say that I have been permanently locked out and I know that I did not try to log into my site in the last couple of days.
    So now I am locked out permanently and can’t get in.
    How to resolve and how to resolve the security around this issue?

  • If it really is permanent, visit the support page for your security plugin. Most of these plugins have in place methods for you to work around being locked out. In the future, pay close attention to the settings you select for your site. As you’ve seen, ‘permanently’ isn’t really the best choice if the username happens to match yours. Usually a shorter time period is sufficient to block most of the bad guys.
