• When using Firefox, if I logout of WP admin, it appears that WP has logged out.

However, if I use the back button and return to the previous wp-admin edit page, Firefox takes me right back into WP, without needing to enter user and password again.

Firefox’s menu option to take you to your most visited pages, also takes me right back into the wp-admin edit without a sign in.

It appears that the logout message is not securing the site with Firefox browser.

I’m pretty sure you are just seeing the cached copy of that admin page.

Try this: once you’ve logged out and go back via the back button, try to do something that wasn’t cached. For example, try to deactivate a plugin.

If you get prompted for a login, then everything is fine. That’s what’s supposed to happen if you logged out.

If it actually deactivates the plugin and you’ve confirmed that you had successfully logged out then something else may be going on.
