• Hi all,

I have >100 photo slideshows created on photos and upload to YouTube. They are now running on Internet. I’m prepared creating a WP website to present them to friends. It is not convenient passing their YouTube links each time to friends.

Please advise how to create a charming WP website for slideshows presentation? In particular the front page of the website.

    Please advise. Thanks in advance.

    Regards

  • A couple of options

    1. You could use a slider plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/gutenslider/
    2. You could use the gallery block and present them as multiple galleries on the front page – the gallery block now supports opening images in a lightbox. This has the advantage that viewers can see all the images without having to wait for the slider to rotate.

    Hi@jamesmarsland ,

Thanks for advice. I’m prepared to go Galley route.

There are 2 ways:- 1. Gallery Block 2. Gallery plugin

Which way shall I choose? Thanks.

At present I embed slideshows on each page: 960×540 (widthxheight). But the website will have many pages.

Personally I would use the Gallery Block, but it really depends on the type of layout you are after.

    Here’s some details https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/gallery-block/

    Hi@jamesmarsland
Thanks for your further advice. I’ll try your version.

On Internet searching I found “SimpLy gallery blocks”. I suppose it is a plugin? For >100 slideshows there will be many pages in the websites?

Besides I expect creating an eye-catching front page of the website. Where I can find examples on Internet? Thanks

Yup that’s a plugin, but it’s probably worth given the WordPress Gallery a run first to see if has enough functionality for you. Yes you could create mulitple pages for each gallery.

    Hi@jamesmarsland

    OK. I’ll try. I’m now collecting infomation of all video/slideshows uploard to YouTube on its websites. They can be classified to following categories;

    1. Travel in Europe : England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Swiss, Austria, France, etc.
    2. Travel in USA, including Hawaii, and Canada
    3. Travel in South East Asia : Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia etc.
    4. Travel in China
    5. Family photo slideshows.

I’m now considering how to put them on my website. Do you have any suggestion?

    Regards
