• Hi all,

I have more than 100 photo slideshows uploaded to YouTube and its number is still to increase. The photos were captured by me worldwide when I travelled in the past. There are thousands of them, both hard copy photos and digital photos. I have no problem converting hard copy photos to digital.

The photo slideshows upload to YouTube are running without problem. I’m considering to create a WordPress sites holding the YouTube links.

Could you please shedding me some idea how to desige an attractive website for this purpose. Thanks in advance

    Regards

I would take a different approach.

Rather than the entire site being embedded YouTube videos, I would build a real photography website showcasing the individual photos, organized into galleries and albums — with fully immersive photo slideshows.

And if these thousands of photos are half-decent and you can drive traffic to the site, you could explore various income sources such as:

    — Add a button to let people purchase/license and instantly download high-resolution versions of individual digital photos.
    — Sell prints (and maybe framing) of individual photos. You could integrate with a print-on-demand photography service to handle the fulfilment.
    — Sell merch (eg mugs, T-shirts, etc) with photos printed on them (again, you could outsource this to a PoD service)

There are several photography-focused themes and plugins that make all that possible without breaking the bank or your back.

Of course, you may not be interested in any of that… and that’s fine ??

Since you plan to “link” or embed YouTube videos, there’s not a whole lot to do here as far as photography is concerned.

This is just a standard website with embedded YouTube videos, so any WordPress theme that fits your aesthetic sensitivity will do.
