Seeking Musician/Band sites using WP

  • Hi I’m a guitarist/instructor who uses WP mostly as a CMS and for occasional blogging activity.

    I’m pretty happy with my site, but I’m looking to do even more in the future, and would like to share ideas with other musicians who are finding creative ways to use WP to promote their art.

    A few things I’d particularly be interested in include:

    How are you presenting and managing your:

    performance dates?
    music samples available for download?
    feedback/interactivity from from your fan base?
    on-line press kits?

    or any other fun stuff you want to share.

    I’m using WordPress for my band’s site right now. The page itself is not WordPress, but the “news” and “shows” sections are driven by WordPress.

    Check it out: divebarmusic.com

    I’m pretty proud of the “shows” area. Future shows are separated from past shows, with future shows descending chronologically and past shows ascending.

    If you’d like to see how I manipulated The Loop to do that, let me know and I’ll post it.
