Seemingly BIG Issue with Latest Release

  • So.. hoping someone has some insight here. But I run this plugin on perhaps a half dozen sites, and within the last day (since the latest update?) all sites are partially loading but then ‘locking’.. It just appears to load forever, and you’ll get the warning about how “This page is slowing down your browser”.

    On all sites affected, disabling Popups for Divi immediately resolves the issue.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

    Some additional information — the issue possibly seems linked to including a pop-up section in the Global Footer (from the Theme Builder in Divi)

    Thanks for that report! We’ve done many tests on different sites – including Popups in custom page footers – but did not observe an issue like you describe here.

    Can you share the URL to one of those slow pages?

    This might be tricky as enabling the plugin immediately brings down any site for me. It’d be tough for me to enable so you can review.. Perhaps I have a staging instance I can spin up..

    I will also look forward to v 3.0.2 to see if that has any impact, once the version comes through the wp plugin repo. (Still seeing 3.0.1 as latest as I write this)

    It’s worth noting that I typically run very similar “cocktail” of plugins on my sites, so perhaps there’s a specific plugin mix that’s causing this issue outside of your plugin. I’ve tried disabling other plugins, but have yet to find the behavior to go away.

    Secondly, I believe all sites that are having the issue are on Lightsail. Perhaps there’s something specific to that hosting?? I’ve tried disabling their Page Speed cache with no luck.

    Darn — can confirm issue still present on 3.0.3 :/

    Same here. Everything is updated, using 3.0.3 and the page partially renders and then locks up. We’re using WP Engine, so it probably has nothing to do with the hosting environment.
