• I don’t know if it’s a matter of settings but Relevanssi seems to take over all searching on the site so that when I search in the Media Gallery or in my custom post type screens, it only produces regular Post results that match the query.

How do I make sure Relevanssi is applied appropriately to each search function in the Admin area?

Disable Relevanssi in admin, and only use it on the frontend.

The problem is – there’s no actual interface in WP for Relevanssi to latch on to, so it’s a bit of a hack. That can lead to problems.

That said, I’ve never had problems with media searches, whether Relevanssi is enabled or not, so I’m not sure what’s going on in there.

Hi there i am also using relevanssi, if i want to do work on a page in the back end i have to disable the plug in before navigating, ive tried enabling it and disabling in the plugin settings but nothing seems to work..

    Any ideas?

Hi, Mikko. Your plugin is very cool. Actually, I do want it enabled in the admin area. I have the option checked because I want it to work on the post list screen (admin area) and it does that very very well. It works just as well as the front end search does. I use it to return search results based on custom fields.

The problem is it ONLY works for posts: When you try to search in the media gallery or anywhere else in the admin area (custom post types, pages, etc) the search results are filtered by Relevanssi just like on the front end.

Are you sure there are no extra filters in play on your site? Because I’ve had no problems in either media searches or custom post type searches. The custom post type pages should add the required post_type query parameter to the searches.

When you do an admin-side search on a custom post type, what kind of URL do you get?
