    Hi

This is a marvellous plugin but it can be unreliable. I suspect this is more to do with Mendeley.com than the plugin – after all if it works it works (and Mendeley can be an unreliable site).

But following the update I now just get errors. I have double checked everything and refreshed the API token several times but I just get errors.

Please see this page for an example:

    https://www.davidlongman.net/age/sources-and-references/

I have removed the CSL from the shortcode so this should be working with just the default CSS.

Any advice appreciated. (I would try a roll back but there’s only v1.1.8 available)

    Thanks

Sorry, but I cannot check the example page you have provided in your report – it asks for authentication …

Could you please describe in more detail what errors you get?

    Thanks for quick reply.

Sorry – I thought that page was public.

    Hewre’s the shortcode I’m testing:

    [mendeley type=”folders” id=”8bd50841-d3fc-43f2-be78-a8296eac3538″ sortby=”authors”]

Here’s a sample of the error log. There’s about 30 items in the list – this is the log for the first couple of items. As I say , the last time I looked about three weeks ago it was working fine. Only change I’m aware of since then is the plugin update.

    Thanks for looking

This book is concerned with the sociology of ‘everything that passes for knowledge in society’. It focuses particularly on that ‘common-sense knowledge’ which constitutes the reality of everyday life for the ordinary member of society. The authors are concerned to present an analysis of knowledge in everyday life in the context of a theory of society as a dialectical process between objective and subjective reality. Their development of a theory of institutions, legitimations and socializations has implications beyond the discipline of sociology, and their ‘humanistic’ approach has considerable relevance for other social scientists, historians, philosophers and anthropologists.”}

The “error log” does not list any errors, but just info log messages.
Have you tried to switch logging off in the backend configuration? That should do the job.

    I’ll be damned – it’s started working!

Believe me – all day yesterday and this morning I’ve been fiddling with it and suddenly it’s responding! I’ve got it on three sites and none were working!

Could this be a mendeley.com issue? For example, I have found from time to time that it can be non-responsive when using the desktop sync.

Anyway – panic over for now – thanks for your time.
