Seems to not be working / can I use shortcodes?

    Hi! I was super impressed to see a plugin that does exactly what I am trying to do, with good support. Not common for a free plugin!

    I’m trying to change the protected post message, but my changes seem to not be having any effect. I’ve tried clearing the cache after changing the message and still nothing, unfortunately!

    I’m guessing because this is because of my theme?

    Also, I was wondering if this plugin allows shortcodes? It mentions allowing basic HTML. I’d love to be able to include the shortcode for my mailinglist signup box so people can sign up then and there ?? I realize that may not be possible though.

    Ah! I figured it out. I was using another plugin to remove the word “Protected:” from the beginning of the page title. Deactivating that plugin made yours work. D’oh! I’m glad because editing the message is much more important to me!

    Is that a feature you might potentially build into this plugin in the future? Even if it was just a checkbox in the reading settings, it would be awesome to have both features ?? Either way, never mind!

    Hi @fogbutton, thanks for the update!

    It should be possible to add this as an additional option to the plugin. Which plugin were you using to do this previously? We might be able to fix compatibility with it, or add similar options to replace it.

    The plugin I was using is called “Remove Protected”.

    I also discovered that using the shortcode for my newsletter signup box to appear prevented the password from working (the password just didn’t do anything) but I just removed that and now it’s doing fine!

    Hi Adrienne, we’ve added this to the latest version of the plugin. After updating the “Protected” text will be removed from titles automatically ??
