    Hello,
    I have a question about a project.
    I would like to have a button or a link above the calendar which will then directly select one or more categories. Since my site has many categories, this should make it easier for the user to select “his” categories without having to select them individually from the dropdown menu.

    Regards

  • I’ve repurposed Categories as Venues and created a drop-down menu option (Calendars) for my Venues. This gives my users an easy way to get to:

    • All calendars/venues
    • Town/village
    • Specific building

    It gets a little messy but until Categories in ai1ec are hierarchical (fingers crossed) this is probably the best I can do for now. It enables the user to go straight to the Calendar/Venue of choice or drill down if they’re not sure.

    Adding a new Venue is not automatic as it requires a menu update but, in my case, the number of Venues will probably level out. Again, I would wish for a tidier way of giving my users a quick/easier way of getting quickly to the level they need.

    It’s probably not far off what you want to do.

    My site is fippennynews.co.uk if you want to take a look.

    @andileni:

    You can use different shortcodes to show filtered calendars on different pages, then link to those pages based on your filter keywords (similar to what the user above described). You can see how to filter your calendar using different shortcodes on your page:

    Events > Settings > Advanced > Shortcodes

    Alternatively, you can submit a feature request for our Dev Team to implement (takes longer) into a future release of the script, on our Ideas page, here:
