Select category for authors automatically?

  • How do I automatically select the category to use for new posts, depending on which user account is making the post?

  • I don’t know that you can do that. Might be possible with a plugin, but I don’t personally know of one.

    I would also like to have certain users to post in specific categories only.
    Currently any author can post in any category, it would be cool, if I as an admin could give users a certain permission, in which categories he/she could add blogs.

    Any plugin around?

    There were a couple for 1.5, but they haven’t been updated for 2.0. If you’re using 1.5, try Limit Categories or Vhost.
