    Hi,

I’d like to recommend coffees on my coffee site based on one of the 9 types of coffee maker people use. So I have nine images of these coffeemakers that people can click on to find out which coffees are best suited to their type of coffeemaker.

I have set up the different types of coffeemaker in Woocommerce product attributes under Brewing Methods and of course will add the appropriate attribute to each type of coffee.

The question is how do I link the coffee maker images to the coffees with the brewing dewsignated brewing method attribute?

    Thanks in advance.

Use the layered nav widgets to allow filtering by attribute in your archives.

    Mike,

Thanks but what link do I use for say the Espresso Coffee Maker Icon so that when someone clicks on it they’re taken to a page that offers all the suitable coffees for that type of coffee maker.

If you use the layered nav and filter by that machine, you can use the URL in your address bar.

    Hi Mike,

Thanks but don’t understand how to achieve this. The 9 types of coffee maker icons are featured on my front page in an image gallery. You can designate what’s called a custom link for each coffee maker icon image but I don’t know what that custom link should be to take you to the page that features all the coffees with for example the attribute espresso coffee maker or the eight other types of coffee maker attributes.

If need be I’d be happy to give you my wordpress admin login details privately so that you see what I mean.

I’v now tried using the coffee makers as Woo commerce sub-categories of coffee and tried using the url of each subcategory as the custom link for each coffee maker image icon but that doesn’t work either – just keeps returning me to the front page when I click on a coffee maker image icon.

Can’t figure it out because when I do a preview for each sub-category I’m taken to the page for that sub-category no problem.

    Any idea how to fix?

    Thanks

If you can access the categories directly, but not via these links, surely that means there is a problem with the link or whatever is outputting these ‘icons’?

I don’t know whats powering it so I cannot really guide you further.

    It’s visual composer’s image gallery.

How are you setting the links for each item?

Eureka! I’ve worked out how to do it using the attributes. Here’s an example:

    /pa_brewing-method/cafetierefrench-press/

So you miss out the url https://www.coffeeallsorts.com because visual composer adds that for you!

    Best
