Selecting location when vistors land on site

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has implemented a feature whereby when a user lands on their site a pop up would display asking for them to select their region and from their they would be directed to a version of the site customized for their region?

Exploring this and would like to hear from people who have done similar.
