Ho do i manually choose which attribute to add to a variation?
For an example, attribute 1 (color), Attribute 2 (Size), Attribute 3 (Type)

Variable 1 (Male) – Must have all 3 attribute
Variable 2 (Female) – Must have all 3 attribute
Variable 3 (Kids) – Only have Attribute 1 and 3.

    Ive tried the following –
Create variation from attribute – Creates combination of all attribute.
Manually created variable has all 3 attribute selected as default.

cant find a way to remove the attribute under the variable selectively.

  • You can’t – variations need to have at least one of ALL attributes selected

You could have an option in attribute 2 called ‘n/a’ or ‘none’ and set that as the only option available in the kids variations

    Hi @vimal05

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you’d like to manually choose which attributes to add to a variation for your products.

You can also create variations manually by following the steps below:

    1. Select Add variation from the dropdown menu, and select Go.
    2. Select attributes for your variation. To change additional data, click the triangle icon to expand the variation.
    3. Edit any available data. The only required field is Regular Price.
    4. Select Save changes.

You can learn more about Variable Products on this support documentation: https://woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/

    Hope this helps!

hi @xue28 thanks for the reply, well aware of the process to add the variable product. My enquiry was on adding the variable with selected attributes instead of having all attributes added by default.

Referring to my initial query, having 3 different attributes, but the requirement was – not all variation added needs all the attributes. By adding the variation – all attributes will be added to it default.

    Hi @vimal05

Thanks for providing further information about your inquiry here.

Have you tried adding the variation manually by clicking Add Variation > Go?

From here, you can select which variation combination you like:

Here’s an example of having 2 variations from 2 attributes with 2 values each:

I trust this points you in the right direction, however, if I am missing something here, feel free to provide further information.
