Self hosted WP tags regestring in Global tags system?

Hi all,

I’m new to this all. Did some research on the following question, but could find an answer.
Here’s my question:

I’ve got a self-hosted WP up and running. Weblog is working fine. I came across the WP.com website and saw that one of the features is “When you write a post and add relevant tags, we automatically add them to our global tag system”. Is this only for WP weblogs (name.wordpress.com)? Or does my self hosted WP also post these tags to the Global WP tag system?
