    Hello,

    I couldn’t find anything about this…

This file appeared in three of my websites:
    wp-admin/session_mm_cgi-fcgi1007.sem

    The file is gone now.

Just curious what that is? A normal temporary file for a session?

I mostly want to know whether it’s a possible security threat.

    Thanks,
    Paul

  • My guess would be that php/cgi/fastcgi is creating temporary files. Why they are (or if they should be) appearing in /wp-admin, I can’t say. Contact your hosts support group and let them know you are concerned. Maybe it’s just a quick configuration issue.

    Thanks for your reply ClaytonJames,

Yeah, with words like “session” and “sem[aphore]” in the files, and the temporary nature of them, I’m not going to worry about them.

    Regards
