Send confirmation message not appearing

    While messages seems to be getting sent OK the confirmation message never appears (also the spinner keeps on spinning).

    This means customers are hitting the submit button multiple times because it looks like their message hasn’t been sent.

    In web dev tools I get this error:

    Apologies for the delay – the site (and an example of one of the forms) is here

    I’ve tried to replicate this on a test server but the behaviour isn’t the same.

    What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

    Hello, it’s a custom theme that has been running for nearly a year now.

    I’m not clear exactly when the issue started but it has only been flagged up over the last couple of weeks – the forms process quite a few enquiries daily. It was worked pretty well for the majority of the time.

    Apart from routinely updating the plugins I haven’t made any code changes recently (or at least none that would influence this issue).

    Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7 and Flamingo, and clearing all cache data.

    Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

    I have a test set up of the site with an identical host set up but the forms work fine there.

    It would not be practical for me to deactivate plugins etc on the live site.
