Hi there, I’m trying to set up a simple, send email upon post publishing job and am struggling with delivery. I set up the delivery to be immediate upon publishing yesterday, but when I checked email this morning I had a new email with the most recent (but published days ago) post in my inbox. I added a test post (with a back-dated publish date to avoid it appearing on the home page) to see if it would send immediately and it hasn’t sent.

I don’t see any outgoing emails or jobs in Email > Post Notifications > Sending tab (and just the one from early this morning in the Sent tab).

Going to Tools > Scheduled Actions, it appears the MailPoet cron is running every 2 minutes, but I don’t see anything else to indicate it will send this supposed email.

When I first set it up, I did daily at 5am but was afraid it would send the same post every day, which we didn’t want since we don’t publish that often. So I duplicated the email and started a new one to send email upon publishing and deleted the old one. So it was a little weird to see the email post notification received this morning at 5:04am. Is there a bug somewhere or am I missing something?

    Thanks for your help!
    Bill

    Hi there @bholla68 ????!

Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!

I think that what you experienced in your first tests is the expected. Let me try to explain it.

So, when creating a Post Notification, all the posts you see in the editor are going to be sent in the first email.

    Then you did this:

?added a test post (with a back-dated publish date to avoid it appearing on the home page) to see if it would send immediately and it hasn’t sent.

But editing a previous post won’t trigger the email it has to be a new one.

    So, my recommendation is to:

I am leaving the thread open so that you can keep us posted.

    Cheers!
