When you enable this if the user submitting the form is logged into your site it will pre-fill the email field on the form with their email address. If they are not logged in, the email field will be blank.

If you do not see an email field on your form when this is enabled, it likely means there is a Javascript error on your site which is preventing the Google Fomrs jQuery script from running as the email field is added to the page via Javascript.

    Hi Mike thanks for answering.

I can see the email field form, I just want to know if that email will be receiving any confirmation message? Or like a copy of the submitted details that the person inputted on the form?

I have found that the email does get sent to the address entered. However, the content of the email is a bit confusing for an end-user/form submitter. It says :
“FYI – A form was submitted on your web site:
    Form: Application xxx xxx
    URL: https://www.mysite.com/myfolder
    Responses: N/A
    Date: 2014-09-24
    Time: 01:01″
…which appears to be a copy of the email sent to the form builder.
Is there any way we can format our own politely worded confirmation email instead of sending them a copy of the email sent to the form builder?

I is the same email content sent to the end user as is sent to the WordPress admin. The intent was purely as an email notification that a form was submitted to the site owner but I added the ability to CC the submitter based on a user request which was easy to implement.

It is technically possible to define a template and include it as the email message to the user however it isn’t a quick thing to do. I will put it on my to-do list but I am not sure when I will get to it.
