• I’m trying to determine a way for our blog’s authors to directly upload videos from their flip cameras to a blog post on our blog. I can have that videos upload directly to their youtube channels, and they could pull the video from there and load it into a blog post, but I’d like a way to automatically complete this task. When I clicked on the ‘blog sharing’ button inside of the account management tool of YouTube, it notified me that they were eliminating the blog-sharing feature due to minimal use. Is there another way to do what I’m trying to do?

Just refreshing the topic to see if anyone has an answer.

well….flip vids can be kinda large. You may have to look into upload limits on your server. Some hosts allow you to raise limits using a php.ini file. So, start there

As for uploading vids….its kind of hard to upload and directly post

I use cforms plugin to allow DJs to upload sets to my server. That gets me an email notification, and the file on my server so I can then make a post including the mix.

I’m not sure how to directly let them post the vids…..how much access do you want to give folks to your admin area…probably not much eh?

You may want to look into some combination of
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/post-from-site/
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/tdo-mini-forms/

im not sure how much power they give to allow uploads…..

    We are planning this:
Use the FipShare software (free) to convert the video (Share button, then “other”)

Add WordTube to your blog, and get the Longtail player (free, but purchasing it gives you nice options like no link to the author)

Once vid is converted (will be .mp4), upload it via Media>WordTube.

The Longtail player will play the vid.

This is by far the easiest way to get FlipCam videos on your WordPress site, other than sending to YouTube and embedding.

Just be sure you have enough storage space, Flip vids can be large, even when compressed down by Flipshare.

Keep us posted on what you wind up doing.
