• I’m trying to send the latest post in a specific category when the post is published. It works, but I keep getting the post emailed every day. I only want it emailed one time when it’s published. Is it possible?

I tried to figure it out in the settings, but there’s a lot of settings, and so I’m not sure what is going on exactly. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

It looks as though the settings for Mail Configuration and Post Notification are very similar. Is the difference that Mail Config will send as scheduled, while Post Notification sends on publish?
I have them both enabled, as I thought they were controlling the same thing. I only want the post sent when it’s published, I don’t need to schedule..

I’m trying to figure this out as well. I just want the most recently published post in one category to send out the next time the wp-cron job runs. I can’t seem to get the settings correct. It appears that it is using the wrong mail configuration and sending the “5 posts” instead of the one that I have enabled.

I turned off mail configuration and cron, and only use post notification, then it sends the latest post in the category as soon as it’s published.

Doesn’t that only send a notification about the post, and not the actual post, using the template?

Possibly, I don’t recall. I set it up that way for a client a while ago and they said it worked.
