    Hi,

Using the “new user-post-registration Email” function I would like to send to the users the [password] , is it possible? I tried to put the shortcode [password] in the html but it doesn’t work.

    Hi @sergionerome,
    Thanks for your message.

You can only use the shortcodes designed for each notification as per the documentation.

The password shortcode in particular can’t be used in other notifications due to security restrictions in WordPress.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hi there!

I don’t want to send password, but I’d like to send a link to the user create his password.
This link has the username, like this one:
    https://box-cards.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=T9r8Ytest9oKBI2LnTG5&login=USERNAME

On my site I usually use this shortcode: %PASSWORD%
    that sends the URL above.

Can I use another shortcodes in your plugin?

    What should I do?

    I’ll appreciate your help.

    Hi @fabiotg,

If you’re using WordPress 4.3 onwards, the [password_url] shortcode in the ‘New User Registration – For User’ notifications will take them to a page where they can generate their own password after registering.

Prior to WordPress 4.3, the password was sent as plain text within an email and used the shortcode [password].

Details can be found on the shortcode documentation page here: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/shortcodes/

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Jack
