After installing the latest update to your plugin, I tried to send a test email but it always returns “Error: unknown error!”. No other WordPress changes have been made. The WP-Mail-SMTP plugin I use is working as expected and sending emails.

Here are answers to your questions:
    1. yes it does
    2. IIS 7
    3. the server is self managed (VPS)
    4. the server is with a hosting provider

I am going to remove all cron entries related to reminders and start fresh now that the certificates have been installed. Will let you know the results. Again thanks for this exchange.

I don’t really have experience with IIS. Perhaps, it has some default settings for curl timeouts and 3 seconds is not enough?

You mentioned that there was the following error message: “There was a problem spawning a call to the WP-Cron system on your site. This means WP-Cron events on your site may not work. The problem was: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 3016 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”.

How did you get it? Was it shown after you clicked on “Run Now” button next to ivole_send_reminder on “Cron Events” page?

Can you please tell me if there are any updates? And also answer my question above. I’m curious about getting this issue resolved ??

Sorry for the delay, I wanted to perform a “clean” test. All prior cron events were removed, an order marked as complete and after the 1 day delay, the email was sent successfully. It took me a while to realize the delay is based on when I marked the order complete and not the completion timestamp within the order, thus I had to actually wait for a day to expire for my latest test.

The cron timeout message was seen before trying to send any reminders manually.

Thanks for all your help. At this time, I still think manual sending would be best for me. I look forward any future support you will have for this feature.

I’ve just released version 3.4 of the plugin. It adds the option for manually sending review reminders. You need to update the plugin, then go to the settings page of the plugin and tick “Enable Manual Reminders” checkbox. Next, you can go to the standard WooCommerce Orders page and manually send reminders for completed orders.

Please test this new option and let me know if there are any bugs.
