• Dear Sirs,

My client tried to use your plugin in conjunction with the Groups plugin. They clicked on the “notify users about this post” link and then selected their group and 1 individual. When they clicked on send the system sent the email to all users. My client is adamant that they selected the correct group, but upon investigation the group they selected had no users in it. Is it possible that selecting a group with no users in it would default to sending to all users?

As the site is live I am somewhat reluctant to do too many tests as I don’t want to bombard all the site users (144 people) with irrelevant emails.

    I would appreciate your comments.

    Kind regards,

    Ian

    Debug mode is your friend.

When debug mode is enabled you can look at the headers that Email Users builds without actually sending the emails to the end users. You can then see if the collection of users being selected matches what you expect to see.

If a group is empty, then no users will be selected from it. If your user sent an email to everyone they must have selected one of the WordPress roles which includes all users.

Debug mode is enabled via the plugin settings page (Dashboard > Settings > Email Users) but make sure you turn it off when you are done because it disables email.
