send to editor linked to file/page doesn’t work

  • After uploading a file and clicking send to editor linked to file or send to editor linked to page, the link produced leads to ERROR 404 – NOT FOUND.
    eg if i upload example.zip
    and press “send to editor” “linked to file”, the code
    <a rel="attachment" href="https://mydomain.co.uk/category/post/examplezip/" title="example.zip">example.zip</a>

    As I’ve said this link leads to the ERROR 404 – NOT FOUND notice, which is a shame because the permalinks are quite cool.

    Linking directly to /wp-contents/upload/2006/01/example.zip does work however, but does anyone know how to make it so that the permalinks work, or if not how to make “send to editor” use the direct url?
