  • same.

It now has [fname] [lname] <[email protected]>

I’m sure we don’t have to use the 2 tag combo, b/c I tried.

Also, the Mail2 “To” header ignores tags. i.e. “[your-name] [your-email]” just comes out as “[your-email]” in mail headers. But if you just type something there like “Client [your-email]” then it works…

I’ve cloned the page, messed around with tags a tone (required, type, (email vs. text) used exactly like examples, etc. etc.). Looked in sql db, all data looks non-corrupted…

    IDK!

    I remembered this:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-contact-form-7-all-emails-coming-from-adminmysitecom?replies=35

Basically, people were using the Reply-To field to override… unfortunately for some reason gmail is ignoring That (shows up in header as “Reply-To: [email protected]”) …

So not sure what to do.

    I can’t disable Configure SMTP plug-in b/c otherwise sending doesn’t work b/c of hosting/dns setup.

thanks for your help with this chestnut-bread. The link you provided gave me a solution – adding ‘reply to’ to the header and also name and email into the message body. Bit annoying though, it was working fine and i’ve lost some customer enquiries as a result.
