• Hello, we run on a server that does not support cron jobs.

I have the feeling that email campaigns that are planned are only sending when someone is working in the backend. Aka when the wp-admin is open.

Regardless: in the send with tab, it states send with mailpoet.

  • Hello there @vi54

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about the sending of your planned emails. It is indeed possible that your email campaigns are only being sent when your wp-admin is open, due to the way your server is set up.

If your newsletter task scheduler is set to the “visitors to your website option” this might indeed be the case.

To improve this situation, I would recommend changing your Newsletter Task Scheduler to the built-in WordPress cron. Here’s how you can make this change:

    1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to MailPoet > Settings.
    2. Head over to the Advanced tab.
    3. Locate the “Newsletter task scheduler” section.
    4. Change to the WordPress built-in cron option
    5. Click on ‘Save Settings’.

This adjustment tells MailPoet to use WordPress cron jobs — instead of its own task scheduler — which should work more smoothly on your current server set up, even when wp-admin is not open.

Please make this change, and let us know if it helps improve your email sending schedule. If the issue persists or you have other questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
