Sending incorrect notification for future scheduled post

We have discovered a weird issue today that has happened multiple times.

We often schedule our posts for the the day and into the future so our homepage is kept fresh and ever changing. Today, we have had two scheduled articles go live and have not received any notifications for these articles.

Instead, we have received notifications for articles that are scheduled to go live a few days in the future. This means the notifications go to dead links as the posts are not live.

Any idea how this might be happening?
