I just moved my blog to a new host and keep getting this:

Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers for this feature to work.

Is there a way I can temporarily disable this security feature in WP until I get my blog back online?

What WP file should I modify to disable this security feature? (… at my own risk, of course).

  • Did you change the domain name? If so, the option values for “home” and “siteurl” in the wp_options table may be incorrect.

Yes, but the probelm is WP is not letting me change this – when I click ‘Update Options’ button on optioins-general.php I get redirected to the login page of the old server. What is causing this redirect? How to disable?

The blog on new server is running restored database from old server? DId the url change? If so, you’ll need to manually update that db to have the new URLs for your blog.

See this tutorial from some more info and a walk-through: https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/
